Shaker Street Sign Replacement Begins
The iconic black and white Shaker Heights street signs (and poles) are being replaced citywide to comply with state mandates. Work started today—Friday, September 5—in the Lomond, Sussex and Moreland neighborhoods.
Existing street signs in a several street area will be removed on one day, and replaced within the next day or so. Because different equipment is required to remove and install the signs, the two phases of work cannot necessarily be completed on the same day. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but please be assured that the signs will be replaced as promptly as possible.
The old signs will be sold on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Shaker Heights City Hall. Signs will be sold as-is, for $30 each, on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check the website for additional information at www.shakeronline.com. Questions about the sale should be directed to the Planning Department at 216-491-1430.
